By car from the A4 (East of Leiden)
Take: exit 7, Zoeterwoude-dorp, Leiden, voorschoten (Vliet country), N-206.
When you turn left, direction: cross come Lead, voorschoten, N-206.
Follow direction: South, Katwijk, voorschoten, Leiden-N-206.
The road makes a large curve to the left in Leiden.
Turn right direction: Leiden-Katwijk, South. This is the Churchill Avenue.
Before the bridge over the Rhine turn right, direction: Centre.
This is the Haagweg which later turns into Noordeinde.
Go straight, over the railroad, later the Noordeinde a narrow street.
At the end of this narrow street turn right immediately, even before the rapenburg on the water. (Beware: you are driving the rapenburg soon over; straight de Breestraat in may not because of a entrance ban.) You are now on the odd-side of the rapenburg. Hotel De Doelen is located on the opposite side on rapenburg 2.
By car from the A44 (West of Leiden)
Take exit 8: Leiden, Utrecht, Valkenburg, Katwijk.
Turn left, direction: Lead.
Turn right, direction: voorschoten, Utrecht, N 206.
Immediately turn left, direction: voorschoten, Utrecht, N 206.
Follow this road for some time, under the railway viaduct to the bridge over the Oude Rijn.
Directly after the bridge over the Oude Rijn go left, direction: Centre.
You are now driving on the Haagweg which later turns into Noordeinde.

You are now on the odd-side of the rapenburg. Hotel De Doelen is located on the opposite side, rapenburg 2. On foot from the Central Station leave the Station at the front (Centre). This is the Stationsweg which turns in the stone Street. At the end of the Stone Street turn left over the bridge. After the bridge you turn right. Walk straight ahead. This is the Prinsessekade which turns briefly rapenburg. Insert at the end the great crossing over. This is the rapenburg, with your left hand “Hotel De Doelen”.
